German Wine Institute Presents the “Pleasures of Pink” at ProWein 2007

Von: DWI

DÜSSELDORF. On all three days of the fair, the wine institute will also present the contemporary product concepts of several groups of wine producers at its stand. The members of each group have agreed to individually produce a wine according to a jointly defined profile and to use uniform packaging to foster recognition value of this wine.

Multi-Estate Product Concepts

To name but one such successful joint venture concept, produced by 14 Württemberg estates: the Kerner varietal wine “Justinus K.” The concept was designed to revive interest in the Kerner grape, a crossing of the red grape Trollinger with the white grape Riesling that was bred in Württemberg in 1929 and named after Justinus Kerner, a 19th-century Swabian poet-physician, who wrote drinking songs in his spare time.

Meet the Press: Current Topics of Interest

At noon on Monday, 19 March, members of the press are invited to the wine instiute stand to discuss current wine topics and to meet the new director of the wine institute, Monika Reule.

International Guests

Every year – partly in cooperation with Messe Düsseldorf, the organizers of the trade fair – the wine institute invites journalists, wine merchants and sommeliers from the world over to attend ProWein, after which they can participate in informative trips through German wine-growing regions, organized by the wine institute.

A Lounge for Conversations - Informative Brochures at the Stand

As in years past, the wine institute’s lounge remains a great meeting point for members of the trade and press, as well as international guests, to relax and exchange information over a glass of wine – this year, a rosé, in particular. The information counter at the stand will provide a comprehensive selection of brochures about German wines and programs offered by the wine institute.
